Matn Al-Arba'in An-Nawawiyyah

Matn Al-Arba'in An-Nawawiyyah is a book containing forty-two noble prophetic traditions, compiled by Imam An-Nawawi, who committed to ensuring they are authentic. An-Nawawi stated the reason for compiling the forty: 'Some scholars compiled forty in the fundamentals of religion, some in branches, some in jihad, some in asceticism, and some in sermons. All of them are righteous intentions, may Allah be pleased with those who intended them.'
